Lateral Kindness

Lateral Kindness Level 2: Taking Action

Now you know what lateral violence is and what to do about it. Does that mean you will always do the right thing when lateral violence occurs? Of course not.

You need practice. You need to be exposed to different scenarios of lateral violence so that you can get your fight, flight and freeze responses under control. By experiencing lateral violence in a safe environment, you can reduce the level of threat that your nervous system detects. This clears the pathway for authentic action.

You also need the opportunity to practice responding to lateral violence. We will demonstrate and discuss effective response strategies. We also help you develop and practice a response style that works for you. When lateral violence occurs in the future you will be ready to respond in an authentic way.
